Fall overview

Greenwich Junior Premier offers fall travel and house programs for Greenwich students as well as for players who do not have a youth program in their own area.

Key Dates

  • Thu Aug 29 - First Day - 5th-8th
  • Mon Sep 2 - Labor Day
  • Sat/Sun Sep 7-8  - First Weekend of Games
  • Sat 10/26 or Sun 10/27 - Greenwich Jr Invitational  - 7th/8th First Team
  • Sat/Sun  Nov 2-2 - Last Weekend of Program

5th thru 8th Grade Travel Program

5th thru 8th graders will train twice during the week with weekend games on either Saturday or Sunday.  The season will culminate with end of the year tournaments. 

Evaluations: To be held end of Aug/beg of September at the beginning of the season

Open to: 5th thru 8th Grade Boys & Girls

Season: August 29th thru October 27th (or November 3rd)

Training: Tue/Thu 6-7:30 pm

Games To Be Scheduled Weekends

Cost: $500 + Uniform (new players must order new uniforms online), Includes reversible pinnie

K thru 4th Grade House Program

Will focus on getting familiarized with stick and ball and small sided games

Open to: K thru 4th Grade Boys & Girls

Season: September 4 thru October 23rd

Training: Wednesdays 6-7 pm

3-4 Playdays for 3rd/4th to be scheduled on the weekends

No cuts

Cost: $350, Includes reversible pinnie

PROGRAM NOTES

Cancellation Policy: There is a $75 fee for cancelling registration up to the first practice for 5th-8th grades. There is a $50 fee for cancelling registration up to the first session for 3rd/4th grades. There is no refund for cancellations after the first practice.

Out of Town Players: Greenwich Junior Premier is open to Greenwich Students and/or existing players. As space allows, players from other towns may be allowed to play if they do not have a program in their own town or if they go to school in that town. To be added to our waitlist, please go to the registration page. There is no guarantee that a player will be taken off this waitlist.

UNIFORMS & LOGOWEAR

Uniforms: All 5th-8th Graders will wear uniforms. The uniforms include a home and away top, home and away skorts and white and light blue socks.

Logowear: Will be available online at a later date for ordering for all Greenwich Junior Premier players/parents. 

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Properly sized outdoor field hockey stick

  • Mouthguard (no strap), can not be clear

  • Eye Cages are optional and NOT REQUIRED

  • Shin Guards

  • Turf Shoes (no molded cleats they destroy the astro)
